Hi, my name is Carnie and I am the Independent Support Broker here at Purple. I have been doing this role since August 2019 and love that I can make a small difference to someone’s daily life. My service is available to anyone who has a care need, doesn’t want a PA but is looking for care services, such as providers or services in the community, with a Direct Payment. I can offer sign-posting for those with an Individual Service Fund, or self-funders.

If you are feeling a little overwhelmed with the choices available, don’t even know where to start with sourcing your own care packages or don’t want a PA, I am here to support you.

I can help you to understand, find or research what is available in your area so that you feel empowered to make an informed choice as to what is the right care for you or a loved one. I make no decisions on your behalf, you are in control and I hope to empower you to make your choices based on facts and knowledge. I can help as much or as little as you require at each stage.

If you communicate through E-mail, I will send you links and information about services so you can then make an informed choice, with the hope you feel empowered to make direct contact with the services, to arrange the next steps.

You may require support in sourcing a care provider, I can research availability based on your needs and give you independent choices of what is available. You may need information on care homes or live-in care, or talk through options to find what is better for you. You may even want to find support in the community, such as having a companion or attending a community event or groups to meet like minded people.
